In our hosting plans, additional domains work as aliases: any domain you add will point to the same directory as your main domain (public_html). This means you cannot assign specific folders to added domains, since they all share the same content.
Subdomains can point to different folders
If you need to organise different content within your hosting, you can use subdomains. They do allow pointing to specific folders inside your account, giving you more flexibility for side projects or differentiated sections of your website.
The reasons behind this decision
This configuration allows us to offer a more robust service, both in terms of performance and security:
- Better performance: we avoid CPU overload problems that would affect every site in the same account. If one website saturates the resources, all the others would suffer.
- Better security: we reduce the risk of attacks compromising several websites hosted under the same account. If one website gets hacked, the attacker would have access to all the others.
Solutions for multiple websites
If you need to host multiple independent websites, our multi-domain plan is the ideal solution. This plan gives you access to a WHM (Web Host Manager) panel with administrative privileges, so you have full control to create and manage your own individual cPanel accounts.
